Wood-look plank scribed precisely around black hexagon tile at a doorway
Home / Services / Transitions & Trim

The edges are where good floors show.

Scribed tile-to-wood transitions, new baseboard, quarter round, stair nosing and threshold work. The detail work that separates a clean install from one that looks DIY.

What’s included

Done properly, start to finish.

Scribed transitions

Plank meets tile

Planks hand-cut to follow tile shapes, like the hexagon threshold in our photo, instead of a straight metal strip.

Thresholds

Height changes handled

Reducers, T-moldings and end caps matched to your floor so changes in height don’t catch a foot.

Baseboard

New or reset

Install new baseboard, or carefully pull and reset the existing trim after the floor goes in.

Quarter round & shoe

Tight to the floor

Covers the expansion gap cleanly where baseboard stays in place.

Stair nosing

Safe, finished edges

Matching nosing at landings and step-downs so the floor ends cleanly.

Door jambs

Undercut, not caulked

Jambs and casing undercut so flooring tucks underneath for a built-in look.

Good to know

Small job? We still take it.

Trim and transitions are part of every install we do, and we also take them on their own: new baseboard after a DIY floor, a scribed threshold where two floors meet, or fixing transitions that never looked right.

  • Mitered outside corners and coped inside corners
  • Caulked and ready for paint, or prefinished
  • Transitions matched to your floor color
  • Add-on to any install or booked on its own

FAQ

Transitions & Trim questions

Don’t see yours? Call or text (971) 427-2333.

Do you install baseboard by itself?

Yes. Trim-only jobs are welcome, including after someone else installs the floor.

Can you match a transition to my floor?

Most flooring lines sell matching transitions. If yours doesn’t, we can use a color-matched or custom-cut option.

What is a scribed transition?

Instead of a straight strip where two floors meet, one floor is cut to follow the shape of the other, like plank cut around hexagon tile. It takes longer and looks built-in.

Will you paint the baseboard?

We install primed or prefinished trim, fill nail holes and caulk. Painting can be added. Ask at your estimate.
